Until this past week, Misha has been a dream to put to bed.  On Friday, she figured out how to climb out of her crib even while the side rail was up and since then she is more of a nightmare.  I have tried to get her to sleep in the twin bed in Amy’s room, but I have to lay beside her and after an hour tonight, she was still fooling around.  We have tried putting a child safety gate on her door but she climbs over it.  Nothing seems to hold her in.  Tonight we took a bungee cord and hooked it to her door and then to Amy’s door so that she couldn’t open the door.  That made her quite angry but after about ten minutes of trying the crying suddenly stopped.  I have a bed made for her on the floor on a foam mattress so hopefully she found her way there.  Tomorrow Chris is going to stop and pick up door handle covers that keep little hands from turning the knob.

Amy sees Chris and I kiss each other on the lips and one day she wanted to kiss me on the lips.  I told her no, that mommys and daddys can kiss on the lips but we kiss our girls on the cheek.  I tried to explain that when she gets married she will be able to kiss her husband on the lips.  I don’t think it sunk in completely because the next day she came to me and announced that when she was bigger she was going to kiss daddy on the lips.

She loves to see and talk about going to Disneyland.  Chris tells her stories at night about his trips there, and she loves the idea of riding a roller coaster–her word for it though is roller toaster.

Amy walked into the office the other day while I was on the computer and said to me, “Ok, here’s the deal.”  Where she picks these things up, I don’t know.  Today was Easter and Amy has been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks.  I told her a story about the Easter Bunny coming to my house when I was a little girl one morning when we weren’t expecting him and how much fun that was.  We found gifts that he had left hidden under the couch even.  Amy announced that she wanted the Easter Bunny to bring her a new baby because her old baby is getting old and the eye lashes have fallen out.  I found one on the internet and she was quite thrilled to see it sitting in the living room this afternoon.

Chris and I hid candy in the plastic easter eggs on the main floor and up the stairs.  It took me so long to get Misha to sleep that I didn’t have a chance to get the eggs hidden earlier, so all of a sudden, I heard Amy walking downstairs.  I made her go back upstairs and watch a movie in the guest room until we were finished.  It was pretty fun to watch her find the eggs.  Misha woke up later and Amy had rehidden some of the eggs for her, but she didn’t really care.  I got her a soft little dog that we named Patch since he has a brown marking over his left eye.  Amy kind of named her new baby “Annie”, but I am not sure it will stick.  Her old baby has just been “baby”.  She did name a little stuffed dog “Sam”.  That was a first.

I woke up with the stomach flu this morning and have felt awful for most of the day.  It was Stake Conference and Chris took both girls to church with him.  I offered to keep Misha, but he declined.  I think he wishes he had left her home.  She doesn’t sit still very well.

We went to the US Home Design Center a week ago to pick out our cabinets, carpet, linoleum, fixtures, appliances, etc. for our new house.  It was a lot of fun.  We are still waiting to hear back on a few things before everything is finalized, but we are excited.

Chris talked to Kevin a bit ago and their new house in Texas should be finished in three weeks.  It is nice for them that they won’t have to make a double move.  Our house will be “on the market” tomorrow and though I hope it sells quickly I hope it won’t sell quickly.  I am not looking forward to having to move twice and change addresses twice and live in a smaller place.  We can surely do it, but it won’t be fun.
