We have gotten a taste of spring the past couple of days and it is wonderful. My tulips should be blooming any day now and the trees are loaded with blossoms. I love this time of year.
We changed our clocks forward last Saturday and are now getting used to the change. Misha is adjusting very well. We started putting her down a little earlier a couple of weeks before the change and she is now completely changed over to the new schedule. Amy, on the other hand, is having a more difficult time. We put her to bed between 8:30 and 9 and when I check on her at 10 as I am going to bed, she is usually still awake. You’d think that she would be sleeping longer in the morning, but no. I enjoy the longer hours of day time.
We are working on finishing up our back yard. We had rocks delivered yesterday for the edging and sod will be here on Friday evening. We wish that we had done it sooner, but I am sure we will enjoy it this summer. We have been out working in the backyard for the past couple of evenings and are now sporting blistered hands and sore backs.
Misha brought me part of the small portable potty yesterday and said “potty” to me. I got it out for her, took off her diaper, moved the potty to the living room so she could sit and watch tv and by the time I got back to her, she had peed on the floor. She stood there with a very surprised look on her face. At least she is beginning to know the feeling and understand a bit better how her body works. I would like to have her trained this summer. Amy does really well with only occasional accidents. Sometimes I think she just waits too long before going to the bathroom. We need to work more diligently on helping her stay dry at night, but she isn’t too willing to go to the bathroom on her own as soon as she wakes up.
Amy is so excited about going on vacation and seeing all of her family. She talks about going to the beach, jumping on the trampoline at Grandma’s house and playing in Kaden’s park. I am sure the sad part will be bringing her home where she won’t have all of her cousins to play with.
We watched a DVD about Jesus Christ on Sunday and it has really concerned Amy. She talks about him having his hands nailed to the cross and being hoisted up. It is kind of a hard concept to explain to a three-year old.
