Later that week Misha was intrigued by the idea that when she had pooped earlier in the day, her poop was shaped like a frog. She said, “I think there must have been a frog in my throat.” I laughed and shared that one with Chris.
One afternoon Amy said, “How come everything I see comes from China?” Misha responded without delay “We didn’t come from China, we came from heaven.” They say so many cute things, and I am just grateful when I can remember it long enough to write it down.
Amy has been growing lately, and so I had purchased her some new uniforms for school. She had a couple pair of pants and two skorts (they look like shorts from the back and have a panel in the front that makes them look like a skirt). Anyway, she walked in to the office trying to be happy about one of the skorts but was obviously not. I asked her if she liked it and she replied that yes she did but that it was too small. How could that be since it was the same size as the other clothes. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that she had both of her legs through one of the leg holes. No wonder it was tight! I couldn’t help but laugh which embarrassed her even more.
When Amy came home from the hospital after her surgery, it was most comfortable for her to not wear underwear over her incisions. Misha had a large polo shirt that Chris had given her, and I asked her if she would mind if Amy wore the shirt since it was long enough to cover her heiny. Misha in all seriousness and sincerity replied “I would do anything for Amy.” That is so true. If Amy gets in trouble or needs help, Misha is the first one in to bail her out. Sadly that charitable attitude doesn’t always flow both ways without a little encouragement.
Kristen has finally learned how to say both of her sisters names, though if you don’t know that what she is saying, you’d probably miss it. Amy name comes out as “A-e” and Misha has been dubbed “Neesh” or “Nish”. She has yet to say her own name though.
Kristen definitely came in to this world with tantrum capabilities. I remembered being so worried in the hospital about her as she had a couple of uncontrollable crying fits and wondering “What have I got myself into?” She can still throw a pretty mighty tantrum. Usually her method of operation involves falling to the floor and bending over until her head touches the floor-though sometimes we hear a pretty good thump. She was having one such tantrum in the basement one day, but before she collapsed to the floor she looked at the concrete she was standing on and quickly moved to the carpet and then did her thing.
A few of her recognizable phrases over the past couple of months have been, “I don’t know” as she raises her hands up and shrugs her shoulders, “I did it” and “Ya yaaaa” for Ta Da.
We brought Christopher breakfast in bed for Father's Day. Nothing like trying to eat with a bunch of girls jumping all around you.
