We had a mighty wind storm on Friday.  Around 3 pm our neighbor Christie Hartley called and asked if we would mind if she tied our trampoline to her play structure in her backyard.  I looked out the window and sure enough our trampoline had blown over the fence and landed right side up in their backyard.  I went upstairs to show Christopher who was on a conference call.  He quickly ended the call and went over to Hartley’s to anchor the trampoline even more by tying it to the fence as well.

I brought our garbage cans in after they were emptied fearing that they would be blown away.  Sure enough, Saturday morning our other next-door neighbor, Chamroeun, came knocking on our door asking if we had seen his garbage can.  Someone had picked it up on Friday and returned it to our driveway later in the day yesterday, and Chris took it over to Chamroeun’s driveway.  Crazy wind.

Amy received a birthday invitation to a friend’s party for Saturday night.  The plan was to have everyone go to a hockey game and then come back to Cameron’s house for a sleepover.  Wow.  I didn’t think I would have to be dealing with co-ed sleepovers at such a young age.  We told Amy that she was welcome to attend the party until after the hockey game and then we would pick her up and bring her home.  She was a little disappointed at first, but Chris and I explained that it was a family rule that she not have mixed sleepovers, and she seemed okay with that.  When I called to tell Cameron’s mom, I think she was a little shocked that we weren’t letting Amy stay the night.  She said, “There’ll be another little girl staying as well.”  I just told her it was a family rule and left it at that.

Kristen quite handily says “no” now.  Pretty much for everything and once in awhile she’ll say yes.
