We are down to the final countdown.  Delivery is scheduled for 8 am, Tuesday, April 19th.  I would have preferred sooner, but that happens to be the day my doctor is scheduled to work at the hospital.  I had my final pre-op appointment yesterday.  Nothing too exciting, just going over procedures and signing consent forms to allow the surgery.

Misha and Amy were more excited about being able to go to Chuck E. Cheese and were disappointed to have to wait until after my appointment was over.  Chris took the afternoon off and came with us so he kept the girls while I was in my appointment.  When I climbed back in the car, Misha said to me, “You wasted our time.”

The reason we were going to Chuck E. Cheese voluntarily was because a couple of months ago, we told Misha that if she could stay dry at night for 5 nights in a row, we would take her.  She did and now stays dry every night.  The key for her is that we get her up to go to the bathroom before we go to bed.  She is still mostly asleep when we take her and climbs right back into bed when she is done.  But it is wonderful that she has finally mastered staying dry.  We are so proud of her.

This Sunday is the first Sunday that we will have meetings in our new church.  I actually attended Enrichment there on Wednesday and what a treat to only have to drive three minutes to get there.  We attended the open house last Saturday while the girls participated in a mock Primary opening exercises.  The building is beautiful and is surely appreciated by all who have had to drive into Longmont.

Last Sunday was supposed to be our last week in the Longmont building, however, a blizzard blew in Saturday night and all meetings were cancelled.  Kind of a nice treat to be able to stay home and relax for the day.  Fortunately the weather cleared up in the evening long enough for us to have the dedication of our new building.

The girls have started swimming lessons again for the summer.  They have class on Saturday morning so that after this Tuesday, Chris will be able to take them.  They are both in the same class which is supposed to be more advanced at Amy’s level, but the instructors seem to be working on the skills of the previous class.  If it were just Amy in the class, I suppose I would be more disappointed, but since it was the only time for Misha and her to take a class that was convenient I’ll not worry too much about it.  I am hoping that more advanced skills will push Misha to learn more and try harder.

One of the nice perks of working at IBM is that Chris has two weeks paternity leave.  He is going to take the first week off full-time and then work half days for the following two weeks.  He would be so far behind if he took two full weeks off.  Hopefully this will work well.  I question his ability to actually only work a half day because there will be just one more problem to take care of, one more person to help, one more thing to do... but I plan to enforce it.
