A couple of weeks ago, I had a “Welcome to the Family” meeting for new US Home buyers. Misha, for the past month, has not been so pleasant to put to bed and Chris had the wonderful task that night. She cried and cried and he went in once to try to console her but she starting crying again when he put her back in bed. She was sleeping finally when I got home and checked on her, but surprised me immensely. I pulled back the covers to reposition her on the pillow and found her completely naked–no diaper even. I called Chris upstairs to check her out, too. He said she was pretty upset when he left her. Obviously. She stayed asleep as I got her dressed again, thankfully. Since then though she has taken to sleeping on the floor right by her bedroom door. She wakes up with carpet marks on her face and arms. I even go in to check on her in the middle of the night to find her sleeping on the floor. She finds her way back there by morning.

Our house has still not sold, and since today was fast Sunday, we had a special fast that it will. The upside is that we likely won’t have to move twice. The downside is that we will likely have to lower our price to $250,000. Since we are doing a buyout with our realtor, the price has to be at the buyout price for 60 days before closing. We are pretty bummed about it but still feel as though we are to move forward. We’ll have to sell some stocks and maybe cash-in some of Chris’ 401K just to cover the down payment on the new house. Money will be pretty tight. Chris’ raise was effective as of July 1st so that should help somewhat.
