Today is my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary.  They have made a wonderful life together and leave a great legacy to their children.  I am so grateful that they taught me so much and showed me how to work.  That makes so much difference in life.

Susan is having a lot of difficulties with her pregnancy.  She has been in and out of the hospital numerous times with early contractions and the latest is a concern with low iron and blood.  We fasted as a family for her this weekend so that she wouldn’t have to have a blood transfusion and able to stay at home for the rest of her pregnancy.  Having a c-section is a piece of cake compared to going through one of her pregnancies.

Amy gave her first talk in Primary today.  You couldn’t even see her head above the pulpit, nor could you even hear her in the back, but she pulled out and opened her scriptures and repeated her talk as I whispered it in her ear.  She did a great job.  She was assigned to speak on the theme: “When Jesus comes again, He will come to the temple.”  This is her talk:

“Malachi 3:1 ‘The Lord...shall suddenly come to his temple.’

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be sudden but also a glorious experience for all righteous people.  It will be a time of happiness, peace and love for those who are prepared to meet him.  We can be prepared to meet Jesus Christ if we follow His teachings, keep the commandments, and choose the right.

In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.”

Amy and I were in Safeway on Saturday getting groceries and Chris and Misha were coming to meet us after he finished filling the car up with gasoline.  They have these new carts now that have a car on the front of them for kids to sit in and pretend to drive.  As Misha came around the corner and saw Amy sitting in the car, she started running, saying, “I’m coming.  I’m coming.”  It was pretty cute.

Misha has started pulling her pants down or simply taking them off and telling me that she has to go potty.  She then wants to sit on the big potty like Amy does.  She doesn’t even like to sit on the little potty.  I am hoping that this is a positive sign for her and that she will want to start potty training.  Wouldn’t that be wonderful.  Now I just need to figure out how to keep her sitting long enough to do anything.

Amy is improving in her potty training.  We now have “poop time” every morning.  She has been successful the last two days.  Wahooo!

We took the girls swimming at the rec center last Monday for FHE.  Amy loved it immediately.  Both girls wear life jackets or the like and Amy has learned to keep her legs from floating up and tipping her over.  She can even swim the length of the pool as Chris follows along with her.  She loves to jump off the “jumping board”.  Misha took about 45 minutes to warm up to being in the water.  She clung to me and would hardly let go.  Finally as we were getting close to going home, she started splashing her arms and legs.

As I continue to work at teaching Misha colors, she has learned to say purple, red, green, blue, black, white, and yellow but refuses to say orange.  Every time her response is a very emphatic “no”.  Not sure if she relates that to oranges which she doesn’t like to eat.
