You are becoming more active every day.  Your awake times are more predictable.  You are especially active when I get home from work in the afternoon.  Probably because you have been cramped as I sit all day long, and when I lay down on the couch, you’re more free to move about.  I love being able to lay down and watch you kicking my stomach.  I first noticed your movements last Thursday and have been telling your dad ever since that I can see you moving.  He doesn’t seem quite convinced because you just won’t move when he is watching.  Perhaps you are showing a bit of stubbornness already.  I guess you come by it honestly since both of us have a tendency to be stubborn at times.

We spent Saturday in Salt Lake with Grandpa Kline.  Chris told him the happy news about you being a girl.  He is so excited.  He, too, said that it is just as fun to spoil a little girl as a boy.  And you will be spoiled.  We went shopping for baby things for a couple of hours.  I think we have picked out a crib for you.  I can’t imagine that you will care much about what it looks like, but it is pretty as well as sturdy.  It should last through a couple of children.

On our way home from Salt Lake, we stopped at a Carter’s outlet, a baby clothes store, and bought a few things for you.  Your dad tries to pretend that he doesn’t enjoy all the shopping stuff, but he slipped once and said that he was having fun.
