I have my (our) second doctor’s appointment at 4:30 today. The first time I went I ended up waiting for at least an hour in the waiting room. This time I will call in advance to see how backed up Dr. Woodmansee’s schedule is. Your dad is going to try and take time off work to be at the appointment as well. This way he won’t miss out on hearing the wonderful sound of your heart beat.
I have been doing a lot of reading about pregnancy, labor and delivery. I love to know your progress in growing and routinely tell your dad that you are “this” big now. Right now you are about the size of my hand. (From wrist to middle finger, my hand measures approximately 6 ¾”). It will be a couple of more weeks before you catch up to the size of your dad’s hand. It is probably half again as big as mine.
I try to learn as much as possible about you from magazines, books and the internet. I want to be as well prepared as possible. I just ordered a book from the internet that is like an Encyclopedia on pregnancy, childbirth and the first year of life. I would like to find more books about parenting since I know that both your dad and I aren’t completely prepared for this to happen. We have so much to learn and sadly some of this knowledge will only come from hands-on experiences with you. Just be patient with us k?
